This is a scene from the Italian Dolomites.  We cycled through there in 2017 with loaded up bicycles!
The 8x8 inch study of this painting won an Honorable Mention award in a juried small works show, and also sold at that show!
This is painted on a gold-paint background- so the yellow tones showing through here and there is metallic gold paint, but can only be seen for what it is from certain angles and in person :).
It has a contemporary look due to being painted on a deep edge  cradled wood panel with the edges left as the natural wood color. No frame needed!
